World War II veteran Bert Collins dies at age of 105

Bert Collins, one of Australia’s oldest surviving World War II veterans and the oldest member of the Australian Labor Party, has died at the age of 105.

Albert “Bert" Collins was due to celebrate his 106th birthday next month.

Tributes recognising and remembering the Bankstown local have been posted online following news of his death.
