It’s estimated that one Australian dies of melanoma every five hours.
It’s among the most commonly diagnosed cancers in Australia — and the most deadly.
But a team of researchers from the Melanoma Institute Australia say they’ve found a treatment which effectively stops the spread of the cancer.
The results of the trials have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine today — and researchers say they could dramatically reduce the number of deaths from melanoma in the years ahead.
