Patterns of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid dietary intake and melanoma thickness at diagnosis
Source: MDLinx, June 2020
Since there is a lack of epidemiologic evidence on the combined impact of dietary intakes of omega-3 and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids on melanoma growth, so researchers addressed this topic in this study with 634 Australian patients with primary melanoma. Dietary patterns that explained variability in selected omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid intakes were derived. For the link between tertiles of dietary patterns and melanoma thickness >2 mm vs ≤ 2 mm, experts estimated prevalence ratios and 95% confidence intervals employing Poisson regression.
