Melanoma incidence among non-Hispanic whites in all 50 US states from 2001 through 2015

In order to analyze changes in melanoma incidence, the authors gathered data from all 50 states and conducted age-period-cohort analyses to describe the combined impact of age, era, and cohort on incidence rates. From the US Cancer Statistics registry, annual melanoma incidence rates for non-Hispanic whites from 2001 to 2015 have been extracted. Data reported that melanoma incidence increased from 20.7 per 100,000 in 2001 to 28.2 per 100,000 in 2015, increasing by 3.90% annually between 2001 and 2005 and 1.68% annually from 2005 through 2015.
