Lipofuscin presence in nevus among risk features for melanoma transformation

“Any choroidal nevus can, of course, transform into a malignant melanoma,” she said. “I recommend that you know the high-risk features — height greater than 2 mm, subretinal fluid, presence of lipofuscin, ultrasonographic hollowness and lack of good prognostic signs like a halo or drusen.”
