Immunotherapy in sinonasal melanoma: treatment patterns and outcomes compared to cutaneous melanoma

In this cohort study, researchers sought to assess whether immunotherapy was correlated with improved survival in sinonasal melanoma (SNM) and to compare the impact of immunotherapy in metastatic sinonasal and cutaneous melanoma. The sample consisted of patients listed in the United States National Cancer Database who were diagnosed with sinonasal or cutaneous melanoma between 2012 and 2015 and had full information about the status of immunotherapy. The analytic cohort consisted of 704 SNM patients, 94 of whom were treated with immunotherapy and 152,896 cutaneous melanoma patients, 8055 of whom were treated with immunotherapy.
