Source: MDLinx, December 2020

By performing this prospective historic cohort study, researchers intended to propose a new simple, straightforward instrument that could be beneficial in early melanoma identification and after being confirmed in further studies, given the ABCD rule has long been proposed as a guidance for malignant melanoma (MM) diagnosis.

They classified 200 melanocytic lesions on the presence of geometric borders.

They reported that 64% of the MM and 31% of the melanocytic nevi presented with geometric borders.
