Source: Dermatology Advisor, January 2024
The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) has issued an expanded clinical practice guideline for the use of immunotherapy in patients with melanoma. The updated guideline was published in the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer.
The current guideline, which is an update to the SITC’s 2018 guideline, includes new data on treatment sequencing, early-stage disease, rare melanoma subtypes, and other topics.
The guideline was created by the SITC Melanoma Immunotherapy Guideline Expert Panel, under the governance of the SITC Cancer Immunotherapy Guidelines Oversight Committee. The members of the multidisciplinary panel have expertise in medical oncology, nursing, patient advocacy, and other specialties.
