14-year-old diagnosed with Melanoma after hair cut revealed moles

“One day he got a haircut, it was short back and sides and spiky on top, and he was leaning over the breakfast bar. My daughter Natalie said, ‘Nicky you’ve got a big splotch on your head’,” the Sydney mum recalls.

Sydney mum, Anna has what she calls a Harry Potter scar on her shoulder – it’s a poignant reminder of the potentially deadly melanoma she had cut out. She’s had two more removed since then. Her 14-year-old son, Nicholas was also diagnosed with melanoma. It’s unusual for kids, but it does happen.
