Spots on Your Eyes Could be Warning Signs Worth Watching

People with freckles on their irises could be at a higher risk of melanoma, especially if they are younger than 40, a Brisbane research project has found.
The presence of three or more pigmented lesions on the iris, the coloured part of the eye, was associated with a 45 per cent increased risk of melanoma, University of Queensland Associate Professor Rick Sturm said.
The study, an offshoot of a larger melanoma study, involved 1117 people of European background living in south-east Queensland and included a melanoma and non-melanoma control group.
