Indoor tanning exposure in association with multiple primary melanoma

Researchers undertook this retrospective case-control study to assess whether and how indoor tanning is related to the development of multiple primary melanoma.
From the Biological Sample and Nevus Bank of the Melanoma Center of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, they retrieved cases with multiple primary melanoma and gender-matched controls with single primary melanoma, at a 1:2 ratio.
Enrollment of 330 patients (39.1% men) with a median age of 51 years was done.
